Dear HWW Students, Families, and Community members,

This morning, we are delighted to be hosting our annual Veterans' Tea event. We will have media in attendance along with many distinguished guests. Students will have the opportunity to sit with Veterans to hear their stories and to engage with a number of displays from the Calgary Military Museum.

Additionally, our Agents for Change student club will be collecting food for the Veterans' Association Food Bank, a vital service here in Calgary.

Due to inclement weather, we postponed yesterday's Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event until Spring. We thank all of our Agents for Change for their planning and look forward to a future opportunity.

Next week is Spirit Week and our leadership students have a variety of fun activities planned for students. Watch our Instagram and school posters for details!

Our Out- of-Province (OOP) Post– Secondary Fair will be held the morning of October 25 for Grade 11 and 12 students.

This year our Get It Done Day on October 26 will be a regularly scheduled day with required attendance for all students. Teachers may elect to review material or to teach new content, depending on course context.

We are looking forward to an excellent session of School Conferences, please sign up at the links shared for in-person this Thursday evening or online Friday morning. For Grade 10 ELA parents, we will be offering a session each day about outcomes-based assessment and the proficiency scale, please see your email for details and plan to join us.

And finally, congratulations to our Athletics teams who are heading into playoffs; best to our Girls Soccer for Quarter Finals this evening and to our Cross Country Athletes heading to Provincials this weekend!

We are grateful for your partnership in supporting our Warrior students for success, see you Thursday evening at the school or Friday morning online.

With appreciation,

Aileen Smyth
