Dear HWW Students, Families and Community members,

January 24 is UNESCO's International Day of Education. We acknowledge the role that education plays in the lives of each of our children and across the broader society. Thank you for your ongoing educational partnership.

This Monday, we will welcome 500 Grade 9s for Tours and Open House. What a joy to share the opportunities at Henry Wise Wood. We anticipate a CLOSED status for next year. The only reason for transfer will be for IB. We will serve our regular program catchment students and in-area IB applications first, then consider applications from the larger IB catchment area. We are a growing Warrior Family.

Family Literacy Week is January 20-27. We are attaching a flatsheet of resources that you might find interesting to explore!

It has been a busy week with exams, credit recovery and writing report cards. We have been so pleased to see so many students taking advantage of the credit recovery opportunities to get things done! Report cards are “live" on January 30.  If you have a question about your student's mark calculation, please reach out during Appeals time Jan 30 from 8am-12pm by calling the school or reaching out to your student's teacher directly.

The first day of Semester 2 is Wednesday, January 31. Students can see their schedule on PowerSchool and course change request information is included in this newsletter. Warrior Connect teachers remain the same yearlong.

Our exam session is well underway. We are proud of the students as they prioritize a thoughtful and dedicated approach to this exam session. If you are available to support Fuel Your Brain, see the information later in this newsletter for sign up.

Best to the students as they write this week. Go, Warriors!
