Principal's Message

Dear HWW Students, Families, and Community members,

Thank you to all of the parents and guardians who contributed to the Staff Appreciation Breakfast.  Staff were so appreciative of the generosity shown. We continue to feel so blessed to have such a supportive school community. We would also like to thank those parents/guardians who were able to attend School Council & Parent and Alumni Association this past Monday, it was great to connect—whether it was in person or online.

A shout-out to our Model UN and Robotics teams who had a very successful weekend, winning our Scrimmage match and 6 Best Delegate awards. Congratulations to students and coaches!

A reminder that there are no final exams in January. Students have an option whether to sit diploma exams in the upcoming April or June sessions for their Semester 1 courses. More information and interest will be gathered in the new year.

Our Course registration process for 2025-2026 will follow our established process for our 20 and 30 level courses. This does not include IB or K&E programming.

· Teachers are well versed in the Program of Studies outcomes required at each course level and make personalized recommendations for the next course based on each student’s demonstration of learning.

· Data shows us that students who take courses aligned with teacher recommendation are often more successful in the course.

· For  2025-2026, course registration at the 20 and 30 level  will be according to teacher recommendation. If a student would like to be programmed outside of the teacher’s recommendation, and has the required pre-requisites, there will be a comprehensive process including conversation with teacher, student/ parent/ guardian and admin/guidance team.

· Please note that Semester 1 teachers will be contacting home for further discussion where there will be a recommendation for a change in course sequence. Please review this short information video for further details and reach out to your child’s teacher with any questions.

For all of the various holiday celebrations ahead, best wishes to all of our Warrior Families. May this be a time of rest, relaxation, and special times spent with loved ones.  Thank you for your partnership with us to support our Warriors for success.

With gratitude,

Aileen Smyth, Principal
