Principal's Message - February 12
Dear HWW Students, Families and Community members,
Wishing our Warrior families an early Happy Valentine’s Day! Today we are enjoying Crush for a Crush run by our Leadership Students. Later this month, we commemorate Pink Shirt Day with our Random Acts of Kindness week. As a Warrior Family, we stand against bullying; we believe in connection, support and kindness which our Warriors extend to one another and our community.
Just a reminder that this week is a short week of classes as our Teachers and Support Staff attend their respective conventions. There are a number of excellent sessions; it promises to be a wonderful learning opportunity as our staff continue to enhance their professional practice.
I’d like to offer congratulations to both our curling teams. The Girls Curling Team earned Bronze in their performance this weekend. Our Boys Curling Team also had a memorable performance this past weekend—they came very close to matching last year’s gold medal performance, falling just short in a game that went to extra ends. Both Girls and Boys teams played so well and should be so proud of their achievements over their season. We’d also like to recognize the impressive performance of two of our debaters—Ben G. and Bhuvi G. at the debate tournament held at Westmount Charter on Saturday. Both are busy preparing for another tournament this Thursday, and ultimately the Southern Alberta Debate Regionals later this month. Our Boys and Girls Basketball Teams along with our Wrestling Team continue to have strong seasons, as they head into the latter part of their seasons. And now our Badminton season is getting underway, tryouts will be wrapping up next week.
We wish each of our students a wonderful, restorative long weekend, and all of our Warrior Families a lovely Family Day,
Teresa Martin
