Principal's Message - February 26

Dear HWW Students, Families and Community members,

This week is ‘Random Acts of Kindness Week’ with tomorrow being Pink Shirt Day.  This year’s Pink Shirt Day design is all about cultivating a community of kindness. Just like tending to a garden, together we can each help nurture a sense of belonging where we live, work, and go to school. It all starts with small gestures— a kind word, an offer of support or understanding. If we plant enough, pretty soon, more will be sprouting up all around us! By sprinkling these seeds of empathy, compassion, and kindness, we can work towards a world without bullying and "Let Kindness Grow" throughout our Warrior community.  I challenge each one of us to find ways to “Let Kindness Grow” in our own lives.

This week also marks the conclusion of my time at Henry Wise Wood High School.  Principal, Aileen Smyth will be returning on Monday, March 3, 2025.  I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to each of you. It has been an absolute privilege to be part of this wonderful school community, and I am truly thankful for the support, kindness, and collaboration I have experienced during my time here.

Your dedication to your children’s education and well-being is truly inspiring. Watching your students grow, learn, and achieve has been an incredible joy, and I am grateful to have played a small part in their journey.

While my contract is ending, I will carry fond memories of my time at Henry Wise Wood. This school is a special place, and I have no doubt that it will continue to thrive because of the amazing students, staff, and families that make up this community.

Thank you once again for your trust and support. I wish you and your children all the best for the future, and I hope our paths cross again someday.

With warm regards,

Teresa Martin,

Principal
