Principal's Message

Dear HWW Students, Families and Community members,

Our Semester 2 is fully underway; we are proud of how our students are taking up their new courses and working hard to get off to a great start. Textbooks are signed out, student course changes are complete, and Warrior Athletics and Clubs are up and running.

The busy times for our students have certainly resumed—this past weekend saw students competing in basketball tournaments, wrestling tournaments, a robotics competition and curling matches.  The rehearsals for the upcoming drama production, “Radium Girls” have also been ramping up as the cast and crew get ready for opening night of the production happening on March 12.

Administration had the chance to connect with Grade 10 and 11 classes in our virtual assemblies this week do a mid-year check-in. We will connect with our Grade 12s closer to grad. Please stay tuned for a Grad newsletter coming soon.

Throughout February, we continue to honour Black History Month through the work of our Student Advisory and Action Committee & Warrior Diversity Council.

‘Gong Hei Fat Choy’ to those families who recently celebrated Lunar New Year. 2025 is the Year of the Snake. In my research, I have learned that the snake brings with it wisdom, transformation, calmness and creativity.  People born in those years are thought to do “whatever it takes to accomplish a goal.”   What admirable qualities to possess.

Wishing you the best as we navigate this ‘deep freeze’ that we are currently in—hoping it doesn’t last too long.
