Principal's Message
Dear HWW Students, Families and Community members,
Yesterday was an exciting day as we welcomed back our Warrior students for the start of Semester 2! As students embark on this new semester, our hope is for students to reflect on their success in Semester 1. For each learner, there will be things that went well and things that will need some adjustments and refinements. Semester 2 is the time for that fresh approach—that is the beauty of a new start!
Semester 1 Report Cards are now viewable on-line and students can see their courses for Sem 2. Our course change request process remains the same, via the posted QR codes. Students should attend courses as scheduled.
We have a short week this with a non-instructional day on Friday—meaning no classes for students. This week we will be meeting virtually with our Grade 10s and 11s during Wise Time for a mid-year check in. We will gather in person with Grade 12s closer to Graduation.
Earlier, on Monday, we welcomed our prospective Grade 9 students from our feeder schools. It was such fun to showcase our school and many programs and student learning opportunities!
The exam session went very well and we thank you for your support for the students. Fuel Your Brain was such a gift that shared the kindness and support of our parent community with our students each day of exams. Students truly felt that support and that helped them to settle into that “I got this” frame of mind as they went into their exams.
As we move into February, we honour Black History Month. Information will be shared throughout the month by our Student Advisory and Action Committee & Warrior Diversity Council to highlight the importance of this month.
Wishing our Warriors the very best for Semester 2!
Teresa Martin
