Principal's Message - June 11

Dear HWW Students, Families and Community members,

Next Friday, June 20, we honour National Indigenous Peoples’ Day as we revisit and renew our TRC Commitments as a staff. More information will be shared in next week’s weekly update.

One year later… we are so pleased to share that our Truth and Reconciliation Garden is being planted! Thank you to our Grounds team and our student helpers. We look forward to seeing the plants begin to flourish.

These include:

· Artemisia Iudoviciana (sage)

· Kinnikinik

· Sweet grass

· Strawberries

Yesterday was the final day of regular classes. And, we completed our final fire drill of the year!

Please see the exam schedule overviewing the days ahead. There is a new attendance process for Friday, June 13 and Monday, June 16. An email was shared today with details.

A big thank you to our School Council for supporting the Fuel Your Brain initiative for exams. We know what a difference an opportunity to connect, have a snack and take a breath makes for student wellbeing and exam success.

Wishing all of our Warriors a successful exam session.

With gratitude,

Aileen Smyth, Principal
