Dear HWW Students, Families, and Community members,
Principal’s Message
Well, the snow has arrived. We are reminding ourselves of all the good things it brings– winter sports, hot chocolate, the beauty of icicles...
Henry Wise Wood High School continues to be a very busy place with so many various activities and events happening. Yesterday, we were delighted to be hosting our annual Veterans’ Tea event. Students had the opportunity to sit with Veterans to hear their stories and to engage with a number of displays from the Calgary Military Museum. It truly was a very informative and memorable opportunity for our Warrior students to learn more from our honoured guests.
Our girls soccer team are playing in the Division 1 Finals today at the Calgary Soccer Centre field #2 at 3:15pm. We wish them the best of luck as they play in the final game of the season. They have had an amazing season and have been outstanding representatives of HWW.
We are now entering 2024 Football Playoffs. There is a Gate Fee of $5 for adults and $2 for seniors and students. Children under 6 are free.
Come cheer on our Warriors!
We look forward to the upcoming sessions of School Conferences that are taking place this Thursday evening in person and online Friday morning. We also are pleased to invite parents to an informative presentation entitled: Academic Accommodations Advising being held at 5:00 pm this Thursday in room 108. This presentation helps parents understand how to help their student navigate academic accommodation in post secondary. For more detailed information on the presentation please see the invitation later in this newsletter.
Our HWW School Council Meeting is upcoming on Monday, Oct 28. Please join us at 6:30 pm here in the Courtyard or online at the link below. A big thank you to Tinke, Sue and the Executive!
