This past Friday, we were honoured to host the 2nd Annual Tsuut’ina Education CBE Family of Schools Round Dance in partnership with Tsuut’ina Education, Cedarbrae, John Ware and Central Memorial schools. Despite the weather, we had an excellent turnout; highlights included an Elder Blessing from Elder Dr. Bruce Starlight, drumming from the Sorel Riders Drum Group, a feast provided by the CT Centre, and a wonderful evening of connection and community. Thank you to all staff, students and families who attended, despite the snowy weather.
Congratulations to Olivia and Sam as they both move to Provincials for Wrestling after a 1st and 4th place finish at this past weekend’s City Finals!
Due to inclement weather, we postponed our fire drill one week later to next Tuesday at 3:15pm.
We want to be good neighbours; just a friendly reminder to parents/guardians to avoid dropping their students off or parking for HWW business in the mini-mall across the road.
We are looking forward to connecting with our Warrior families at School Conferences upcoming March 21 and 22. Sign up links will come out next week. Thursday is in person from 4:30-8:00 and Friday online from 9-12.
Our Senior Girls basketball team is heading into semi-finals in playoffs this Thursday night at home at 5:30pm. Please join us for some excellent basketball!
Badminton is well underway and Spring Sports including rugby, field hockey, boys soccer and track and field are soon to start.
We also want to acknowledge Substitute Appreciation Week from March 11—15. We are so grateful to our guest teachers for your support for our Warriors; thank you for coming to Wise Wood with your expertise and good cheer.
Best to all of our families who are honouring Ramadan beginning on March 10.
With appreciation,
Aileen Smyth
