Regular Program at the CBE
Even though most of our schools offer a regular program, no two are quite the same. All schools teach according to Alberta Education’s mandated curriculum, however a school’s focus, optional courses and school activities are as unique as every school.
GATE
GATE is for students identified as intellectually gifted based on superior cognitive abilities. Central to the program is the development of critical and creative thinking skills in addition to social and emotional competence. The GATE program allows gifted learners to work collaboratively with like-minded peers with frequent opportunities to apply higher level thinking skills and diverse problem solving strategies to real world topics. Students can progress at a faster pace through the Alberta Education Programs of Study. GATE core classes are congregated or blended classes depending on enrolment. Students are in community classes for complementary courses.
