Dear Prospective Grade 10 Families,

At Henry Wise Wood High School, due to increased student enrollment, we have received preliminary notification that our enrolment status is projected to be CLOSED for the 2024-2025 school year.  

Schools that have a CLOSED status will only be able to accept students inside of the regular program designated boundaries.  

As an International Baccalaureate (IB) program school, we also serve south Calgary for IB. We will consider in-area regular program student IB applications first, and then determine if there is space to accept students within the larger IB catchment area.  

So what does this mean for your student? 

• Your student has a spot at HWW if they live in our designated regular program catchment area. 
• The process for application to IB remains the same. 
• In-area IB applications will be considered first. 
• IB programming will be the only acceptable reason for transfer to HWW, however enrollment is contingent upon space in the IB Program.
