Principal's Update
Assistant Principal’s Message
Dear HWW Students, Families and Community members,
We hope everyone who celebrated had a happy Easter and Passover this past weekend.
Principal Smyth, Ms. Newman, Mr. Simon, and 32 band students are in Ottawa and Montreal this week. Ms. Smyth has asked that I share the opening message in her absence.
A sincere thank you to all of our parents and guardians who volunteered last week at the School Council Parent Alumni Association casino. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. The time and energy you gave, especially during late nights, directly support enriched and extended learning opportunities for our students. We are truly grateful.
We have a number of spring sports games scheduled this week and are hoping for good weather. If games need to be cancelled due to weather conditions, announcements will be made as soon as possible. Please review our website calendar for our sports schedule.
Henry Wise Wood High School, along with several other Calgary high schools, will be hosting exchange students from Japan from April 10–24. Approximately 24 Japanese students will join their host students in classes at Henry Wise Wood, as well as participate in field trips across Alberta and social activities within Calgary. This summer, 9 Henry Wise Wood students will travel to Japan for their own exchange experience. Thank you to the Henry Wise Wood families who are hosting these students.
A few dates to note this week:
· Wednesday, April 8 Term 3 ends.
· Thursday, April 9 Term 4 begins
