Principal's Update
Dear HWW Students, Families and Community members,

In Warrior Athletics, we are so proud of our athletes as we wrap up our basketball season with one Jr Boys Div 2 Gold, one semi-final, one 9th place and one 5th place overall finish. Congratulations to our coaches and teams.
And, congratulations to Nawaf A., for a City Championship Gold Medal in Wrestling.
We are excited to ramp up our Spring Sports season including Badminton, Girls Field Hockey, Girls Rugby, Boys Rugby and Boys Soccer.
Next Thursday, March 19 from 4:30-8:00 we are pleased to host in person School Conferences. There will be a Commun-i-tea in our Learning Lodge in room 120 near the elevator. It is open to all, please drop by our Learning Lodge for an opportunity to connect and enjoy some soup and bannock.
On Friday, March 20 from 9-12 we have online School Conferences. Families will be able to sign up for their preferred timeslots beginning tomorrow at 5pm. Please plan to bring your students to the Conferences. We look forward to talking with you!
A reminder of our upcoming Lockdown practice with our CPS partners on Tuesday, March 17 at 10:30am. Staff will be reviewing these procedures at our staff meeting this Friday morning.

Math Contest
If you are interested in challenging yourself mathematically, sign up for one or more of the following contests:
Galois – grade 10’s (Sign up by Mar 2 – contest date April 1) $12
Hypatia – grade 11’s (Sign up by Mar 2 – contest date April 1) $12
Euclid – students who have completed 30-1 (Sign up by Mar 2 – contest date March 31) $18
Please see Ms. McKay to sign up - in room 304 before school Monday – Thursday, or Mondays after school.

Athletic Updates
Jr Boys Division 2 Basketball Congratulations to our Jr Boys Basketball team for winning GOLD Friday night. It was a close battle between HWW and Pearson, but our Warrior team claimed the victory. Congratulations to all the team members, and Coach Kevin G and Coach Job NB.
Boys Soccer Tryouts are in full swing this week with over 80 students participating. Thank you to all the boys who came out Monday and Tuesday. Final teams will be posted on Friday, March 13. For those who make the team - please pick up your package in Room 314 on Friday and mark your calendars for the online Parent Meeting March 18 @ 6pm. All players and a parent/guardian are required to attend. There will be some optional gear available to order until March 20. Please check the soccer board for an updated practice schedule.
Tentative practice schedule next week:
Mon (16): 3:45-5pm with SCAT testing*
Tue (17): 3:45-5pm with SCAT testing*
Wed (18): 7:00am (and online parent meeting at 6pm)
Thu (19): no practice (Parent-Teacher Interviews)
Fri (20): no practice (Parent-Teacher Interviews)
* SCAT testing is a mandatory baseline concussion testing all athletes are required to complete
Girls' Rugby Parent/Guardian Meeting
There will be a mandatory meeting for all parents and guardians who have a student playing on the Girls' Rugby team this season on Tuesday, March 17th from 7:00 - 7:30pm. It will be on Teams at this link: Girls' Rugby Parent/Guardian Meeting .

Casino Volunteers Still Needed!
If we can’t fill all our volunteer roles then we will be denied our next casino and we won’t be eligible for another casino for a minimum of 4-5 years. This will significantly impact the ability to bring in proper equipment to enhance core classes or limit what options we can offer.
