Principal's Message
Dear Warrior Families,
First, to start with gratitude.
A heartfelt thank you to our School Council and Tabi Sam and the team for the wonderful Staff Appreciation Luncheon. Staff felt so seen, valued and well fed! You always know just what to do to make us feel special. The scrolls were a beautiful gesture.
It was a delight to celebrate our Awards’ winners at the Academic Awards last night. Our Scholarship was clearly in evidence. A huge thank you to Mr. Finockio, Ms. Little, Ms. Badyal and the Facility team for organizing such a beautiful evening. A particular congratulations to our largest “Full” IB Programme class in 20 years at Henry Wise Wood. Well done, Warriors.
A reminder of the final dates of the year:
· This is the final Wednesday Warrior of the year.
· Final day of Specialized classes- June 26
· Mark appeals- June 29 from 8am-12pm
· Last day of the school year- June 30
· The office will be closed for the summer on June 29 and re-opening on August 20.
· Please watch your inbox for summer Wednesday Warriors July 15 and August 12.
And to close, a few final thoughts from my heart to yours as I transition north, and we welcome in the wonderful Michelle Hornby.
It is my Wednesday morning routine to take a walk with a dear friend around the school grounds. I notice the feel of the air, the smell of the flowers, the sight of green grass or sometimes mud puddles or snowbanks... And, I notice the feeling of Community. We serve 19 Feeder Schools and 1850 students and families at Wise Wood, and we come together as a Warrior Family, through the ups and downs, joys and sorrows, lows and highs.
It has been my great pleasure to serve as principal here, at the Home of Artists, Scholars and Champions. I thank you for all that we have accomplished together, and I wish each of our Warriors, past, current and future, all the joys of a good life.
One final ask, please do take a moment to provide some input for our incoming Principal. I know Ms. Hornby will love it here.
